PWD DEPARTMENT (ROAD)

Rs. 2 cores sanctioned by Government in the first phase for repairing and reconstruction of roads.


  • From the above amount of head Rs. 1.50 cores sanctioned for construction of road from Gohpur PWD Bungalow connecting Dhenudhara to Hawajan measuring from 2 k.ms to 10 k.ms out of 23.1 k.ms. The stretch has reached final stage of completion.
  • Sanctioned 15 lacs for construction of Martyr Mukunda Kakati road located at Ghahigoan. It has been completed already.
  • Sanctioned about Rs. 35 lacs for the construction of road beginning from Mornoiguri of Kalabari thus connecting Gagolgaon to Sukura. The stretch has reached final stage of completion.

CONSTRUCTION AND DEVELOPEMENT OF UNDERMENTIONED ROADS AND CULVERTS OF THE P.W.D DEPARTMENT IN EXPENSE OF RS. 4 CORES ON OCCAISION OF 86TH CENTRAL ANUAL CONFERENCE of SHREE MANTA SANKARDEV SANGHA.


  • Solengli , Rojabari , Sonapur roads were constructed along with a box type culvert.
  • A temporary subway had been constructed from the NH 15 to the main area of the conference.
  • Repairing of 4 k.ms road has been under construction from 15 no. National Highway to Amdoiguri (Dubia Railway Station).
  • Repairing of 4 k.ms road is in progress from Brahmajan to Dalhousie.
  • Repairing of Hawajan road length 11 k.ms to 23.6 k.ms from the P.W.D Bungalow of Gohpur.
  • Partial repairing of first 5 k.ms road has been completed from N.H. 15 (Kokila) to Thaichengbari .
  • Construction of connecting road 2no. Naharani to Simoluguri.
  • Construction of connecting road from the Gopalpur road to Tingalibori.
  • Construction of road of N.H.15 connecting Kamalapathar to Ververi Michinggaon that has been disconnected since independence and has been connected by the construction of a wooden bridge.



HEALTH DEPARTMENT

  • Construction of X –Ray Building and installing of X-Ray Machine to the Civil Hospital of Gohpur Sub-division and likewise free of cost Govt. service to the public.
  • Fitting tiles and re -modifying the floors of the external departments along with the wards of patients both male and female of the said Hospital.
  • Inaugurated two Air-Conditioned cabins constructed by the donated money of the local businessman Mr. Dipak Agarawala and Dr. Ranjit Kari and from the surplus money of the Gohpur festival. This is inaugurated by our hon’ble M.P.
  • Modernized as well as reconstructed the Medicine Store of the said Hospital to keep the medicines scientifically protected.
  • Being as a chairperson of the construction committee; the Sub-Health Centre of the Burighat has been newly constructed after the deconstruction occurred to the extension of Four Lane National Highway.
  • In total 15 lacs from the head of the Chief Minister Aid Fund donated to 35 Cancer and Heart patients for their health treatment belonging to Gohpur Constituency.





IRRIGATION DEPARTMENT

  • Plan has been taken for water supply in expense of 414 crores to 8830 hectare cultivating land of Gohpur constituency and accordingly the scheme of Buroi Irrigation Project prepared by chief engineer had been sent to the central govt. for approval.
  • Prepared water supply scheme in 34 nos. Panchayat of Gohpur constituency under the scheme of PMKSY by means of semi-deep tube well to the cultivating land.



WATER RESOURCE DEVELOPEMENT

  • The river Solengi of the east Gohpur constituency has been ruining badly the inhabitants of the either sides from many years. Therefore, construction of embankment and channel cutting is near to completion in expense of 5 cores 82 lacs. The amount has been sanctioned by SDRF and thus this necessary measure has been taken to solve the burning issue.



AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT

  • Various seasonal seeds such as rice, potato, mustard oil, peas, sesame, nut, chilly, wheat etc. has been practiced to distribute 10,557 nos. farmers for 25.163 hectare cultivating land. Moreover, soil sampling of such areas as Kalabari, Gohpur, Gahigaon etc. has been sent to the higher authority to identify for suitable cultivating land. Again, distributed SOIL HEALTH CARD to 222 nos. farmers belonging to Kalabari, Gohpur and Ghahigaon. Moreover, Kishan Credit Card (KCC) of Rs. 5 lacs 46 thousands has been distributed throughout the branches of bank like Gramin Vikash , Alahbad, and UBI of Gohpur branch and SBI of Balijan branch.



AIDS TO FLOOD AFFECTED PEPOLE

  • Given aids to the flood devastated people of the destructive flood of 2016 that swept over Gohpur constituency. Distributed 1604 qutl. rice, 299 quintal musur dal, 12 qntl. Sira, 2 qntl. Gur, and 1050 animal food besides our physical visit and company with the affected people. Moreover, free medicines were also distributed among them.



A FEW IMPORTANT PROGRAMMES OF THE YEAR

  • Kanaklata Baruah –one of the most noteworthy freedom fighters who was shot dead along with another freedom fighter Mukunda Kakati while leading a procession bearing the National Flag during the Quit India Movement of 1942. We respectfully remind their great sacrifices and offer our deepest tribute to the heroic figures along with those freedom fighters of the constituency who participated in the freedom fight. The “Martyr Day” has been observed on 2oth September at Ghahigaon at presence of Central Minister.
  • “Jyoti Chitraban” is the making place of the first Assamese film “Joymati”. There were many governments in power after independence but no one had paid any attention on the deteriorated condition of the studio. We observed “Silpi Divas” stately on 17th January, 2016 at Bholaguri. Hon’ble Chief Minister Srijut Sarbananda Sonwal graced the programme and donated 20 lacs at first phase for the preservation and reconstruction of the “Jyoti Chitraban”.
  • The biggest and largest 86th central annual conference of Shree Manta Sankaradev Sangha was held successfully at Gopalpur-Salengi Ramananda Samanay Khetra during our one year term. I have been blessed being executive president of the reception committee as well as accomplished all my essential deeds.
  • International Veda Conference was successfully held at Gomiri during our one year term.
